Why The CBA
You can do business as usual, or you can do business at RHU. The difference lies in what distinguishes our approach in an age in which, one must make a mark to succeed.
Aside from programs, courses, classrooms and labs, our approach to business education integrates Supportive Advising, the Learning Support Center, Cooperative Education Training and the Community Engagement Experience.
These four dimensions combine to strengthen the student’s ability to succeed in and out of the classroom. Moreover, they extend learning beyond the traditional boundaries and into firsthand professional and leadership experiences, which enlighten the student’s path toward making a mark in whatever he/she does in life.
Take a few minutes and read the brief sections below to see what we are really talking about.
Supportive Advising
Upon admission into the college, every student is assigned a faculty advisor who mentors and guides the student throughout his/her studies. The role of the advisor is to support the student toward fulfillment of his/her professional and educational ambitions. Selection of courses to take, exploration of different career options, and resolution of academic performance issues are just a few of the areas your faculty advisor will always be ready to discuss with you.
Check with the Reception’s Office of the college to identify your faculty advisor and pay him a getting to know each other visit as soon as you can.
Learning Support Center
Self-directed and peer to peer learning are the foundation upon which the Student Learning Support Center is established. Staffed by excelling graduate students and upper level undergraduate students, the Center provides tutoring assistance, free of charge, to students facing performance difficulties.
Moreover, the center is full of learning resources carefully gathered to help students advance their knowledge. Resources include videos, documentaries, DVD’s, solution manuals, study cases and solved problem sets.
Check with your advisor or the Reception’s Office of the college to locate the center, familiarize yourself with its opening hours (M-F: 9:00 – 4:00) and feel free to use it at your convenience.
Cooperative Education Work Experience (COOP)
The COOP Work Experience program constitutes the first stepping stone from the classroom into the workplace, the link between academia and the business world. In the COOP training, students learn to apply the knowledge and skills they acquired at the university, and get the chance to learn new methods and acquire new skills.
At RHU, the Office of Cooperative Education arranges the COOP experience and performs the necessary follow up until the student begins working at one of our COOP Partner Employers. A faculty member then evaluates the student’s performance in terms of attitude, efficiency, accuracy, learning potential, discipline, cooperation, and more. An evaluation of the COOP experience is performed by the student’s employer, faculty supervisor, and the student him/herself.
Community Engagement Experience (CEE)
The community engagement experience is a short period of voluntary service to the community and society done at various nonprofit organizations, non-governmental organizations, community associations and governmental entities. The CEE gives our students the opportunity to sharpen their leadership skills, while allowing them to contribute to the prosperity of their society.
At RHU, the Office of Cooperative Education arranges the CEE and performs the necessary follow up until the student begins working at one of our CEE Partner Organizations. An evaluation of the CEE is performed by the student’s employer, faculty supervisor, and the student him/herself.
