We are excited to invite you to the first Micro-Mouse Competition hosted in Lebanon at Rafik Hariri University. The event is jointly organized by the IEEE RHU Student Branch and the Robotics Technology Club and is scheduled for May 18th, 2024.
The Micro-Mouse competition is a thrilling event where small robotic mice compete to solve a 3m x 3m maze. The competition has been around since the late 1970s and is popularly hosted in various countries, including the UK, USA, Japan, Singapore, India, South Korea, and Sri Lanka. The robots in the competition are fully autonomous and must find their way from the maze's starting point to the finish point. The mice must explore the maze, map out the paths, detect walls, and find the optimal route from the start to the finish.
This competition will have two categories - Elementary and Senior. The Elementary category is for students under 15 years old, and they will compete in different mazes with varying difficulty levels. The Senior category will also compete in different mazes, and the difficulty level will increase from one maze to another.
The winner of the first place will receive a prize of $300, the second-place winner will receive $200, and the third-place winner will receive $100. Additional prizes include Best Design, Innovation, Rising All-Stars, and Best Algorithm.
