I am delighted to welcome you to the College of Arts and Sciences at Rafik Hariri University.
Our college is renowned for the richness of its culture and its diversity of thought reflected by the vibrant range of disciplines it offers computer science, healthcare information systems, graphic design, English language, mathematics, freshman science, and freshman arts, in addition to teaching diplomas. These majors, added to physics, biology, chemistry, and liberal arts courses, resonate perfectly to feed students’ intellectual curiosity and nourish their passion, talents, and creativity.
We at the CAS do not only provide a world-class education to our students but also a scientific, linguistic, and liberal arts foundation for the students from other colleges. We also offer students the opportunity to widen their knowledge and gain additional skills by joining our various minors.
The world won’t look the same in the upcoming years. We will live in smart cities orchestrated by quantum computers and artificial intelligence systems. This will resolve problems once considered insoluble and treat ‘incurable’ diseases; however, it will lead to social, cultural, and environmental issues. In collaboration with our esteemed faculty members, our chairpersons and academic coordinators thoroughly explore the influence of modern discoveries/inventions on our society from scientific and humanistic perspectives and continuously evaluate, update, and accredit our educational programs accordingly.
We are proud at the CAS of our distinguished faculty members who meticulously guide you, our beloved students, and carefully prepare you to chart your route to the top of your profession, where you can lead the next generation to overcome global challenges and build a better future for everyone.
Dear students, our remarkable achievements are the fruit of collective efforts and a continuous strive to learn. Learning never ends. Newton, one of the most significant figures in the history of science, compared his phenomenal achievements to diverting himself on the beach, finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary. At the same time, the great ocean of knowledge lay all undiscovered before him. We advance when we acknowledge our littleness in the scheme of the enormous universe. Keep Learning! We all have thrilling intellectual challenges and excellent advancement opportunities ahead.
I look forward to getting to know all of you and supporting your development and progress through the years on campus and beyond.
Once again, welcome to the College of Arts and Sciences and welcome to RHU.
Yours Faithfully,
