General information
Rafik Hariri University invites applications for part-time faculty positions in the Languages and Liberal Arts Department at the lecturer/instructor rank to teach English communication and/or intensive courses. Successful applicant must hold a minimum of an MA degree in English Language/Linguistics/ TEFL/ or Writing and at least 3 years of teaching experience in higher education. A PhD degree in these fields is a plus. The candidate must exhibit a passion for teaching and a commitment to student learning.
Duties and responsibilities

Successful candidate will commit to:
- Teaching English in the intensive program, Freshman English, and/ or English Composition and Rhetoric; empowering students to assume responsibility for their own learning; motivating students to learn English; improving students’ English proficiency and communication skills; using the most up-to-date teaching strategies; supporting teaching practice with technology; and catering for students’ different learning styles.
- Working closely with colleagues, the coordinator and the chair; collaborating with peers for the advancement of the department; sharing knowledge and expertise with peers; and collaborating with peers on research is a plus.
- Rendering service to the department and the college.
Educational and Special Requirements

The candidate must have the following requirements:
- A minimum of an MA degree in English Language/Linguistics/ TEFL/ or Writing. A PhD degree in these fields is a plus.
- At least 3 years of teaching experience in higher education.
- The ability to develop and maintain an effective working relationship with students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
- Have strong communication skills.
