On Thursday, January 25, 2024, the RHU ASCE Student Chapter, in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department, and Ms. May Mrad, their advisor, attended a gathering for ASCE Chapter advisors and members from various universities in Lebanon. The gathering was held at the USJ Science and Technology Campus in Mar Roukoz Dekwaneh and was organized by the ASCE Lebanon Section and USJ École Supérieure d'Ingénieurs de Beyrouth (ESIB).
The gathering started with a welcoming and networking session between students and society advisors from different universities. During this gathering, ASCE Lebanon Section President Mr. Michel Bou Chedid welcomed all universities and expressed his happiness for starting 2024 with the first gathering to happen after COVID-19 Pandemic.
Then, a scientific seminar was presented by Prof. Wassim Rapheal (ASCE USJ -ESIB Society advisor) and Dr. Sahar Ismail that tackled the topic of “Beirut Port Silos After Explosion”. The gathering ended with a reception.
The members of the ASCE RHU Student Chapter left their fingerprints at the gathering. They socialized with professionals from the industry and with students from different universities.
