The RHU Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, in collaboration with the IEEE RHU Student Branch and IEEE-EMBS RHU Student Chapter, hosted a community outreach workshop for high school students on February 17 and 24, 2024.
The workshop was held at the RHU campus in Mechref and was attended by around 95 students from various high schools. The main objective of the workshop was to introduce students to the ECE programs at RHU and provide them with hands-on experience.
The students were divided into groups and participated in workshops led by lab engineers, where they learned to implement projects such as a heart rate monitor, automated home activity using renewable energy, and an Internet of Things surveillance system. Current RHU ECE students provided technical support.
Students who performed exceptionally well during the workshop may receive a scholarship to pursue a Bachelor of Engineering degree in biomedical, electrical, and computer and communications engineering at RHU.
The event concluded with a campus tour, leaving the high school students impressed with the facilities and serene environment at RHU.
