The Finance Society in RHU College of Business Administration organized a visit to the Lebanese Central Bank. Instructors Jamil Chaya, Ragheed Moghrabi and Rima Hakim as well as CBA students of different majors took part in the tour on November 16 between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
The tour kick started with a visit to the clearing room. Students were able to observe a live presentation of the work done and receive a detailed orientation about how the clearing of checks is done. They then moved on to the central bank currency museum where they watched a brief documentary about the history of both the central bank and the Lebanese currency up until today, alongside a lovely tour around the museum detailing the currency’s evolution.
After a short breakfast break, the tour was wrapped with two presentations that were conducted and presented by Houssam Faraj, head of studies department at the Lebanese central bank’s Banking and Control Commission and a Capital Markets Authority Representative who briefed them about the Bank’s operations and regulations as well as licensing, supervising and monitoring activities done within the Lebanese capital markets.
