The RHU Software Engineering Club hosted the seminar “Real-Time Cyber Defense: Monitoring, Threat Hunting & Incident Response” in collaboration with IEEE Women in Engineering Lebanon. The event drew a diverse group of students eager to deepen their understanding of cybersecurity.

RHU was privileged to have Ms. Natalia Shamma, a Junior SOC Analyst, Computer Science alumna, and senior in Computer and Communications Engineering, as the guest speaker. Ms. Shamma shared invaluable insights and real-world experiences, offering participants a comprehensive view of the cybersecurity landscape.

The seminar focused on SIEM solutions for real-time monitoring, threat detection, and incident response. Topics covered included forensic analysis, threat hunting, log correlation, and incident investigation, with a focus on detecting Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) and implementing effective response strategies.

Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the practical knowledge and industry insights gained.
We thank all attendees for their contributions to the success of this event and look forward to future seminars hosted by the Software Engineering Club and IEEE Women in Engineering Lebanon to continue advancing cybersecurity education.
