The RHU Software Engineering Club, in partnership with IEEE, WIE, and Hash, hosted a successful workshop on the fundamentals of web security on Tuesday, April 15, at the MEA Conference Hall. Led by Mr. Hassan Al Achek, Co-Founder of Hash and Offensive Cybersecurity Engineer, the session introduced students to modern web application technologies and common vulnerabilities, including IDOR, path traversal, LFI, and RFI. Participants explored testing methodologies and learned practical mitigation techniques.

The workshop featured hands-on labs, allowing attendees to simulate real-world security scenarios using intentionally vulnerable applications, deepening their understanding through direct experience. Hassan’s rich background in Red Team operations, malware analysis, and ethical hacking brought valuable insight and energy to the session.

This event reflects RHU’s ongoing commitment to delivering impactful, real-world learning experiences that prepare students for the evolving challenges of the cybersecurity field.
