In a remarkable achievement, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) RHU Student Section from the College of Engineering, dominated the Student Design Competition (SDC) at the ASME EFx event held at NDU Louaize on 20-21 March 2025.

This year’s SDC challenge was to design, fabricate, and test a device that can rapidly and accurately sort and transport ball bearings of different materials and sizes. Competing against six other top university teams, RHU not only excelled but triumphed, securing both first and second places, further cementing RHU's position as a leader in engineering innovation and excellence.

The winning teams were Team "NAAF," which secured first place with members Naji El-Ahmad and Afif Saadeh Nokari, and Team "SORTIFY," which took second place with members Hassan Harb, Ruba Al-Baba, Mahmoud Mustapha, and Serine Zahran.

The event, themed "Aviation and AI," brought together expert speakers, engaging discussions, and a variety of exciting competitions. It served as an incredible platform for students to showcase their skills and knowledge in cutting-edge fields while fostering collaboration and learning among peers from across universities.
This outstanding victory is a testament to the hard work, creativity, and teamwork of RHU students. Special recognition goes to the students who attended the event and provided unwavering support to the teams: Hadi Al-Naim, Ali Othman, and Mohieddine El-Hout. Their enthusiasm and commitment were integral to the success of their peers.

All participants were under the expert guidance of RHU lecturer and lab engineer in the Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering Department Mohammad Al Kaderi. His mentorship and leadership were crucial in securing this well-deserved triumph.
