RHU was present at the 3rd American Library Association Conference held in Sharjah-UAE between November 8 and 10, 2016. Director of RHU Library, Ms. Jamal Tabbara, attended this conference. With the many changes taking place, building strong libraries requires knowledge about the latest technology trends in this field, which helps transform the library to a research center that engages and impacts students.
Many topics were presented and discussed during this conference. All speakers were leading librarians such as ALA President, Ms. Julie Todoaro, and other American and Arab professionals. Some of the main topics were: Thinking about the future, Library trends and signals for the future, how to know what technology trends to adopt, planning and promoting library science to engage and benefit users, and building strong libraries requires well trained librarians.
