RHU welcomes the 1973 International College alumni visiting their old school campus after 50 years

On a momentous occasion on October 10, Rafik Hariri University (RHU) proudly welcomed 17 esteemed alumni of the International College (IC) from the class of 1973 who gathered to visit their old school campus, the RHU campus now, after 50 years. The visit provided a rare opportunity for them to reconnect with their past and relive the memories of their school years.

RHU's Interim President, Dr. Hiam Lotfi, RHU's Vice President for Development, Mr. Hisham Kobrosli, and RHU's College Deans warmly welcomed the alumni in the Office of the President at 9:00 a.m.

Dr. Lotfi expressed her honor to receive them on campus and be part of the memories their visit will bring. She was thrilled to brief them on all the amazing progress RHU has made since their time here. She informed them about the various RHU colleges and programs, their locations, facilities, and classrooms. “We have maintained the campus and preserved its spirit. We have also adopted its mission of developing a generation capable of serving their country and the world as a whole,” she said.

Mr. Loay Oueini expressed his gratitude to the RHU President for the warm welcome. He acknowledged the significance of this place and the cherished memories it holds for all. “It is an honor to be here at this place that holds dear memories for all of us. We appreciate your efforts in teaching and bringing up a new generation who can bring back Lebanon and hope that Lebanon returns to its glory days.

Each alumnus then introduced himself or herself and expressed their thoughts and feelings. Nasser Tabbaa appreciated the efforts of RHU in keeping the institution lively. He said, "Despite the deteriorations going on in Lebanon, the fact that you continue to make this place thrive is something remarkable.”

After gathering for a group photo with RHU Presidents and College deans, the group embarked on their eagerly anticipated campus tour to witness the transformations on their school campus in Mechref. They paused at each building reminiscing about their days as IC students, meeting RHU students on their way, and admiring the change and preservation here and there.
