    RHU’s 5th Annual Athletics High school Tournament: 11 schools compete and 200 attend

    RHU Athletics Department held its 5th Annual High School Tournament in basketball and mini football, men and women categories, between the 23rd and the 26th of March, at RHU campus. The tournament succeeded in bringing high school students from eleven schools in Lebanon to compete in a fair play and present their athletic skills and abilities. More than 200 schools attended. A committee evaluated the performance of the players and accorded university scholarships to the best and most valuable players (MVP) in the competition.

     

    The competing schools were Rafic Hariri High School RHHS (Saida), Hariri High School II (Beirut), Houssam Eddine Hariri High School, Qalaa High School, (Abra)ثانوية السيدة للراهبات المخلصيات, Khaled Bin Al Walid High School, Makassed Omar Bin Al-Khattab College, National Evangelical Institute for Boys and Girls NEIGB (Saida), Iman High School (Barja), Shouf National College S.N.C.

     

    In the men basketball tournament, the winner high schools were ثانوية السيدة للراهبات المخلصيات in first place and Makassed Omar Bin Al-Khattab College in second place.

     

    In the women basketball tournament: the winner high schools were Shouf National College in first place and Houssam Eddine Hariri High School in second place.

     

    In the men mini-football tournament, the winner high schools were Qalaa High School achieved in first place and Shouf National College in second place.

     

    In the women mini football tournament, the winner high schools were Shouf National College achieved in first place and Hariri High School II in second place.

     

    The Director of RHU Student Affairs Office, Dr. Mohamad Taha, and RHU Athletic Coach, Mr. Khaled Baba, distributed the medals and the trophies.

     

    The MVP titles and the athletic scholarships went to:

    In mini- football: Ahmad El Hariri (MVP + 25% Athletic Scholarship) from Khaled Bin Al Walid High School and Sinal Braish (MVP) from Shouf National College

     

    In basketball: Mazen Badawi (MVP + 25% Athletic Scholarship) from Makassed Omar Bin Al-Khattab College and Nai Bou Dergham (MVP) from Shouf National Collage
