On Wednesday, April 17, 2024, the ASCE RHU Student Chapter in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department organized a series of "Water Wise Technical Sessions" at the RHU E-meeting room. The event was held in coordination with the National Council for Scientific Research (CNRS), Acted Lebanon, and Notre Dame University and lasted from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The presentations were part of an EU-funded HawkaMaa-EU initiative aimed at improving water governance in Lebanon and enhancing public water and wastewater services across the country. Four sessions were delivered by experts in the field: Claudette El Hajj from NDU, Amine Shaaban, Hadi Abd Sater, and Ghaleb Faour from CNRS. They focused on the following topics: Mapping Water from Space, Flood Risk Management, Wise Use of Water Resources, and Water Quality Assessment.
These technical sessions helped increase participants' awareness and technical knowledge about the water sector in Lebanon.
