In an attempt to place theatre at the heart of the RHU university life, the THEATRE 301 course was introduced this spring semester by RHU College of Arts as a humanities elective. On April 15 and April 18, 2019, RHU witnessed the first theater production “The Person,” written by the Egyptian playwright Mr. Alfred Faraj. Directed by the course instructor, Ms. Nisreen Sinjab, the play was performed in four separate shows at RHU by the students taking this course and succeeded in attracting audiences from RHU and beyond who were glad to be touring the beautiful RHU campus and enjoying an entertaining evening at the same time.

The play was original in not choosing the typical stage as its platform; rather the audience was guided to specific sites where the scenes were performed. This rotation was meant to reflect the plot of the play that involved the cyclical journey of the individual and the sense of disorientation humans face in the process of growing old.
