RHU Student Representative Committee (SRC) hosted Colonel Dr. Adel Mashmoushy for a seminar on anti-drugs on Wednesday, February 8 between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. A large group of faculty, staff and students listened to valuable advice on the importance of opening up towards this taboo topic and combating drugs to push towards a drug-free future.
Dr. Mashmoushy explained to students the dangers of drug abuse indicating that “once a person is drawn to drugs, there is no way back, the person will reach a point where even his or her parents might give up on him or her.” He added, “no one should be ashamed of such a burden. If you are aware of someone facing this calamity, take part in saving his or her life. Help out!”
This seminar played a big role in enriching students’ morals and human values. Dr. Mashmoushy’s extensive experience in this field and activities have led to a considerable decrease in drug trafficking industry in Lebanon.
