Alumni Relations

RHU Alumni continue to give their university community ever more reasons to boast of their grand accomplishments. As prominent engineers and business men numbering more than 2000, they are dispersed around the world in Lebanon, North America, Europe, GCC, Africa, and Asia.

RHU Development - Communication and Alumni Relations Office serves as the link between the university and it alumni. It practices leadership in the area of alumni relations, support, and development, ensuring that the RHU alumni family prospers.

Office Responsibilities

Maintaining and updating confidential records of RHU alumni, personal, contact, occupational, and academic information.
Achieving increased, relevant, and interesting communication with RHU alumni to promote their integration in RHU university life.
Planning alumni events to include lectures, seminars, reunions, and other events.
Extending career services to the members of RHU alumni and assist them in all aspects of their career development process. This includes providing information on available employment opportunities, seminars, and conferences by major area of specialization.
Coordinating the establishment of RHU Alumni Association and plan reunion events and alumni activities in coordination with the established alumni chapters.
Developing an alumni magazine that publicizes information about RHU alumni success stories, reunions and other events, alumni activities, etc.
Establishing and administering RHU online alumni community on RHU website.
Administering the Rafik Hariri University Alumni page on Facebook and establish new social media communication platforms for alumni.

Policy on Alumni Communication

The role of RHU Development

Office of Communication and Alumni Relations is to ensure alumni receive written or electronic communications containing information of relevance and interest. To achieve this goal:

Communication with alumni is centralized. RHU Alumni and Public Relations Office will act as the liaison between the university and the alumni.
All requests for communication with RHU Alumni should be submitted in writing to RHU Development
Alumni and Public Relations Office for review and approval by RHU’s Vice President of Development.
Communication requestors must have authority and or responsibility within their college, department, or office.
Responsibility for this communication resides in the office of the vice president or dean to which the requestor reports.

Policy on Alumni Records Disclosure

An alumnus may request information from the database on behalf of a group they represent as long as the alumni group is recognized by the university.
A request for demographic data may be provided but would include no personal details.
Absolute confidentiality of the information provided is expected and is the responsibility of the requestor.
The transfer of the information to another party is strictly prohibited.
Email addresses will not be provided to requestors as we ask that all email communications be sent through our centralized email and will be scheduled and distributed to your specified audience of the Alumni.
Information is provided for a one time communication purpose only and is approved for university related activities only, which include: Alumni relations, public relations, research, giving requests, and recruitment.

Alumni Activities

RHU Development - Office of Communication and Alumni Relations aims to enhance the involvement of alumni in university life. It coordinates with the RHU Alumni Association and the established Alumni Chapters to plan alumni events and reunions.

Reunion 2014 in Riyadh

Inspired by a close support and endorsement from RHU President, Dr. Riad Chedid, RHU Development - Office of Communication and Alumni Relations announced RHU’s first ever Alumni Reunion Dinner for RHU alumni living and working in Riyadh, KSA on June 13, 2014. The reunion was held in the presence of H.E. the Lebanese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Mr. Abed Al Sattar Issa in the hall of the Lebanese embassy in the diplomatic neighborhood in Riyadh, KSA.

Reunion 2014 in Qatar

Nothing could surpass the sincerity and optimism that overwhelmed the meeting of RHU alumni with RHU President Dr. Riad Chedid and Vice President Hisham Kobrosly in Qatar on September 21, 2014.

Reunion 2014 in Dubai

RHU alumni living and residing in the UAE were finally united with their alma mater at The Address Montgomerie Golf Club in the Emirates Hills in Dubai on December 5, 2014. The meanings and interpretations of the joyful smiles that curled up the faces were those of gratitude, yearning, and deep bliss. Yes, everyone was eager as this profound circumstance was being witnessed, a reunion after long years of remoteness and distance, a confrontation with ones dearest of memories.

Reunion 2015 in Lebanon

On Saturday, January 31, 2015, at 5:00 pm, RHU campus rejoiced of a new beginning! The RHU alumni in Lebanon were reunited for the first time in 15 years at their university campus in Mechref!

RHU Development - Office of Communication and Alumni Relations administers the Alumni Group on Facebook. This is a closed group. Anyone can find it and see who's in it. However, only members of this group can see, like, and comment on its posts.

RHU Alumni Magazine publicizes information about RHU alumni success stories, alumni reunions and other events, alumni activities.

Alumni Awards & Recognition

For the first time in its history, and by recommendation from RHU President, Dr. Riad Chedid, approved by RHU Board of Trustees, RHU recognized two of its alumni who have demonstrated leadership and outstanding career achievements, as part of an annual Alumni Honors Program. The alumni honorees for 2015 were Mr. Amr El-Husseini (CBA Accounting / Finance class 2002) and Dr.- Ing. Malak Baydoun (CE Mechatronics class 2006). They were bestowed their honor awards on Saturday, May 23rd during the 2015 RHU Graduation Ceremony.

RHU Job Fair

Rafik Hariri University aspires to become a force of meaningful transformation by instituting a responsive educational model that challenges the norms. With more than 20 programs in Business Administration, Engineering, Sciences and Information Systems, Design and Arts, and more than 3200 RHU graduates that continue to achieve eminence as prominent engineers, businessmen and women, and successful academicians throughout the world, RHU emerges as the incubator for a nation we dream of.

Since its establishment, RHU has assisted renowned businesses in Lebanon to connect with qualified RHU graduates and fill their job vacancies. To enhance this rewarding relationship, RHU organizes a job fair on campus. The RHU Job Fair allows RHU business partners to showcase their products and services, meet senior students and graduates, and find qualified candidates for their job vacancies.
