I am delighted to have this opportunity to shed light on the activities of the Office of the Vice President for Development and Information Technology. Working under RHU president’s support, the office serves as the link between RHU and the larger national and international communities.
This office has grown and its activities have diversified up till its current status. Many goals were achieved in the areas of alumni and public relations, information technology, campus facilities and fundraising.
The Office has worked hard for the last 3 years to rekindle the relationships with RHU Alumni. The most important achievement in this area was the establishment of the Alumni Association of Rafik Hariri University in February 2016 and launching the Association activities. We are proud of all the successful RHU alumni numbering today more than 2200 business men and women, engineers, graphic designers, and computer scientists. They are dispersed around the globe trying to enact change and improve the world. RHU alumni continue to give their university ever more reasons to boast of their academic and professional accomplishments and we are keen on safeguarding this valuable asset.
The Office has provided a strong marketing thrust to the university achievements over a wide variety of media platforms. We shall continue to grow our abilities in this area and develop our strategies, be it in traditional or digital media. Our social media platform activities have so strongly contributed to a significant position for RHU among the top 10 universities in Lebanon according to QS University rankings.
On the other hand, RHU Development is working on initiating fundraising activities for expanding the campus area, starting new programs (space, labs), and improving the facilities, etc. Our approach will enhance RHU support system by assisting donors in contributing to the sustenance and expansion of RHU’s role in the national, regional, and international communities.
We have also been working on developing the information technology services to ensure we improve RHU users’ productivity in executing University functions, and managing the University information systems.
I urge all to get involved in the process of supporting and promoting RHU’s well deserved presence among the best quality higher education institutions in Lebanon and the region.
I urge all alumni to reconnect, become active members, and provide their support to the Alumni Association members who will for sure represent the RHU alumni and their interests.
I urge all to remain faithful to President Rafik Hariri; to the founder’s dream and aspirations of progressing the nation.
